The King Arts 2010 Summer Camp, "Summer on the Avenue," will allow the campers to explore the history of the King-Lincoln district, through visual, performing and green arts. The campers will create a community garden, community mural, and learn from various community leaders and artists. The campers will ultimately foster a sense of pride and unity in the King-Lincoln district.
The King Arts Complex nine week camp, for ages 5 - 12, will use the "Summer on the Avenue" as a central theme focusing on the value of literacy to every aspect of "performing" in life. Students will practice visual, performing, musical arts as well as enrichment in math and social studies. Summer camp ends with a final performance to include recitations of written essays, poems and stories learned and created during the camp experience.
Camp starts at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Early drop off 7 a.m. and late pick up until 6 p.m.
Registration fee: $20 (non-refundable)
Members: $80 per week; Non-members: $85 per week
